Kenya - 2026

We have been planning a Kenya tour for several years now and are pleased to announce this brand-new adventure has finally made it onto our calendar. We are so confident this will be a popular trip we have decided to run two tours in 2026.

This tour will see us exploring the dramatic Rift Valley with a mix of ridge, XC, and thermal flying across two incredible locations.

Week 1 – Kerio Valley

We start with 6 days in the Kerio Valley, one of Kenya’s hidden gems for ridge flying. Kilima Resort is perched right on the cliff edge with take-off just steps from your room.

This spot delivers epic ridge flights, perfect for out-and-returns or long soaring days landing right back at base. No van missions – just wake up, walk out, and fly.

Week 2 – Kijabe Hill

Next, we head south to Kijabe Hill for a complete contrast – flatland XC and thermal flying. Kijabe Hill juts out of the Great Rift Valley at 2600m and a height of 600m from the valley floor.

Fly to the nearby dormant Mt. Longonot volcano, connect with a conversion and go big into the Rift Valley or just enjoy classic thermal flying above the African landscape. There is a big landing field at the base of the hill for safe landings.

Retrieves are easy with local motorbike taxis that follow pilots. In the evenings, enjoy smooth restitution flights and spectacular views.

There’s the option at this location to visit Lake Naivasha. Situated 20km away it is in an incredible nature sanctuary called Crescent Island, you can take a hike amongst the wildlife. **Walking close to a giraffe is always an experience! **

Friday night in Nairobi Due to the early drop off at Nairobi airport on Saturday morning we will leave Kijabe Hill Friday afternoon and drive 2 hours into Nairobi for our final night. Nairobi is a vibrant bustling city with lots of cool bars and restaurants, so not only will you get a taste of city life it will also mean just a 15 minute transfer to the airport in the morning.

Who’s it for?

This trip is designed for confident XC pilots who are comfortable in strong thermal conditions and active air.

Non-flying partners are welcome as this region offers the opportunity to participate in many additional activities and excursions. We can provide additional information on request and we are happy to pre-arrange a non-flyer program for anyone interested at an additional charge (Please note: the base price for a non -flying partner remains the same due to the limited group size.)
